About 'Tutoring With Hayley'

Finding the Light in Every Student

Hayley has been teaching since 2000 and tutoring since 2009. Combining her skills as a professional performer with her love of literature and clear, methodical approaches to study, she takes the mystery out of English GCSE

and replaces it with confidence, self-esteem and enjoyment.

Hayley has a warm and humorous approach and an enlightened strategy, starting every course with each student creating individually-tailored affirmations. By unlocking mental blocks in this way, following with solid, clear tutoring, Hayley's track record typically boasts an improvement of 1-3 grades over a consistent 12-month period of regular study. She brings characters in literature to life by bringing the students into the worlds of the texts with modern-day analogies and uses unique strategies for memorising quotes, Language Techniques and a fool-proof plan that makes any essay question a breeze.

Hayley has a way of welcoming students into her online classroom that helps them feel liberated to succeed and never afraid to fail.

Learning From Home

Hayley is brilliant as what she does! From a mum whose child hasn’t enjoyed or engaged in education (ASD and PDA) for years. They always enjoy their tutoring sessions with this amazing lady!

Lauren H - Mum of Aiden, 15yrs

This woman! I NEVER thought my daughter could do so well. It wasn't just the English. Hayley's sunny personality lit her up every lesson. And it's the other stuff I've never seen a tutor use before - the affirmations are such a great idea and she can use that in the future. You would be mad not to grab a chance with Hayley.

Sam B - Mum of Chloe, 15yrs

Well, where do I start? Hayley is so kind and understanding. There's no pressure but she seems to find a way of getting the kids to jump through hoops that even I thought would be impossible. I don't know how she does it. And her patience! She's very systematic which really helps the kids understand and break things down. Brilliant teacher.

Kerry M - Mum of Daisy, 12yrs

Meet Hayley

Hi I'm Hayley and I'm a GCSE English Language and Literature Tutor.

So I guess you'll want to know about me!

I read English Literature at De Montfort University, graduating in 2004. After 2 years as a Training Centre Co-ordinator for trade professionals, I earned my second degree in Acting at the prestigious Mountview Academy of Theatre Arts!

Whilst studying, I worked as a Dance, Drama and Singing Teacher for numerous private schools and then as a TA for SMART Education. Here I worked across many schools in the UK, specialising in teaching English to students with anxiety and emotional needs. I absolutely loved championing, creating and delivering courses for staff in these areas to accommodate for the growing need for the understanding of SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health) in mainstream classrooms.

Alongside a successful Theatre career, including West End credits, I began a 'short-term, part-time' tutoring role with Fleet Education in 2009.

Life changed again when I married and had my gorgeous boy, Charlie, in 2015. By then, I had my feet firmly under the 'Tutoring' table and began what would be a full-time, long-standing career in tutoring English to SEMH and Gifted and Talented students - with a waiting list longer than I could manage!

With a need for more family time, yet still loving tutoring and wanting to help more students than time allowed, I decided to offer group online tutoring, bringing my classroom to the homes of those who need - and want - it.

So, here I am - making a difference to as many young minds and hearts as I can, on my mission to help alleviate some of the stress our kids deal with in approaching their GCSEs, and maybe - just maybe - helping them learn to ENJOY being successful in this subject with a tutor who genuinely cares..
